Dorcas Quek


Matthew and Dorcas have been involved in music since young.

Dorcas concentrated on playing the piano, obtaining LTCL and FTCL in piano performance (Trinity College, London) at a young age.

Both siblings have been performing and composing songs together for the past few years.

Both Matthew and Dorcas released 2 CDs entitled If I Loved You and Treasures of the Heart in December 2001, receiving much encouraging comments and positive response from the public, including American vocal teachers.

They were also interviewed and featured on PASSION 99.5 FM (Singapore Jam) and Radio Singapore International (2 programmes, Youth Beat and Singapop) Their latest albums, Someone Like You and You Are the One were released in July 2002. All albums are currently sold at HMV (The Heeren) and the Esplanade Shop (#01-01/03, Esplanade Mall).

On 27th December 2002, they were also featured on Arts Central channel, in the programme Art Nation hosted by Beatrice Chia. In September that year, the siblings performed in the newly opened Library@Esplanade.

Matthew and Dorcas recently performed at Library@Esplanade once more, on 30th May 2003. They were interviewed on News Radio 93.8 in The Living Room by Stanley Leong, on 29th May 2003 regarding this event.  Radio Singapore International then featured Matthew again in the programme Lime Light (by Belinda Sunshine) on 27th June 2003.

The sibilings have had the privilege to perform in aid of various charities. In 2002, they participated in a musical extravaganza held in conjunction with a golf tournament. This event was in aid of Agape Counselling and Training Centre. On 11 Dec 2004, they performed in a concert in aid of Agape Counselling and Training Centre as well as the Christian Outreach to the Handicapped. This concert, held at Alliance Francaise, was aptly named "Music with a Heart". On 6 December 2004, The Living Room on News Radio 93.8 featured Matthew and Dorcas in relation to this event. The siblings were also interviewed on Zao An Nin Hao, Channel 8 Mediacorp, before this performance
